"You cannot build sustainable success on a disconnected foundation. At some point, every leader must choose to continue adding more or to start aligning better."
Most people assume that leadership is built through experience, strategy, and skills. I used to believe the same. My story, however, began far from boardrooms and leadership frameworks. I grew up in Cancún, Mexico, when it was still developing, part of a pioneer family that witnessed its transformation over time. That environment shaped me early. It taught me adaptability, resilience, and the understanding that growth is never linear - it is built through vision, uncertainty, and constant change.
From there, my path took me far beyond what I could have imagined. I moved to London, later to Malaysia, and eventually to Barcelona, navigating different cultures, languages, and ways of thinking. Each move required reinvention. Each environment demanded that I rebuild not only my career, but my identity. And alongside that, one of the most defining experiences of my life: raising my children in a foreign country, without the immediate support of family. That reality changes you. It forces you to grow faster, to become more resourceful, and to develop a level of self-leadership that no formal training can teach.
My career initially began in law, following a path that was structured and logical. But very early on, I realized something important: what makes sense externally does not always align internally. That realization led me to step away from a conventional path and explore new directions. Through different roles, countries, and experiences, I began to see a recurring pattern. The biggest challenge for most professionals is not capability. It is alignment.
There was a period where I felt completely lost. No clear direction, no certainty about the next step. At the time, it felt uncomfortable, even frustrating. Looking back, it was essential. Because it forced me to stop searching for answers outside and start developing them within. That is when I began studying Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), neuroscience, and human behavior. Through that process, I discovered something that now defines my work: We all have internal resources we are not fully using, not because they are absent, but because we are disconnected from them.
That insight became the foundation of the I.C.E. (Individual Centre of Excellence) methodology - a framework built around three core elements: purpose, passions, and powers. Not to add more complexity, but to create clarity. Because when individuals understand what drives them, what energizes them, and what they are naturally good at, everything changes. Decision-making becomes clearer. Communication becomes more effective. Performance becomes sustainable.
Today, I no longer see leadership as a set of competencies. I see it as coherence - the ability to align who you are with what you do, consistently, even in complex, high-pressure environments. Because in a world that is constantly changing, what differentiates effective leaders is not just what they know, but how they show up. Leadership, at its core, is not built from the outside in. It is built from within.
Finding alignment between external success and internal fulfillment, navigating multiple career transitions and cultural relocations while raising children abroad without family support.
Developed the I.C.E. methodology and founded PowerUp Academy, helping leaders and entrepreneurs across different industries and countries achieve sustainable success through internal alignment and self-awareness.
